Our Club’s favorite stop
The club makes a run to the Island for the fourth of July. In 2008 we left on Wednesday. We had windy conditions with rough water and we passed through two small thunder storms on the way up. Many boats from the state park were in the cove on Horseshoe to get out of the winds. We had to spend the first night on the hook. The weather had cleared and the winds settled down overnight, most of the boats returned to the park side and we were able to get the wall.

The wall offers a nice area to set up tables, grills, and our supplies. The outdoor facilities and fire-pit are near by.

The Island has a trail that goes around the perimeter. There are nice views of the state park and Ephraim from the cove.

The Island offers a peaceful setting, views of the area and boaters, and great sunsets.

We’ve made fall trips and spent Saturday and Sunday on the Island. The dish and flat-screens come with so we can watch the Badger’s game on Sat, and the Packer’s game on Sun. It’s a great trip to end the boating season.
